The course describes the advantages and disadvantages of various types of stabilizers, including chlorides, resins, natural clays, asphalts, soybean oil, and other commercial binders. The methods of preparation of gravel roads prior to the application of stabilizers are explained in the text. The course also describes various innovative equipment and appropriate methods used for dust control and stabilization. The material is based on Gravel Roads Maintenance and Design Manual, Sections IV - V.
